A Brief History of Salvation

Even though, from an earthly perspective, the arrest and crucifixion must have looked like a plan spiraling out of control, it was the elegant culmination of a beautifully executed rescue mission. Everything about it pointed to promises that ran from Eden to Jerusalem.

Scripture had foreshadowed everything and the “deeds of power, wonders, and signs” confirmed Jesus as the key player who would fulfill the ultimate Promise.

Although God used the freewill of all the people interacting with Jesus, it was all shaped by “the definite plan and foreknowledge of God” (Acts 2:23). The Creator has always proven He can even use things meant for evil for an ultimate good (Gen 50:20).

Jesus was the “anointed” hero, the King of all the kings and the only person who could pull off the defeat of death. It was all “predestined” even before the creation of the universe—a masterplan that proved to be perfect, despite involving many flawed and imperfect people.
